We had lunch here last month. The restaurant is half a mile or 9 minutes walk from the LA Union Square Station. The food is great. Their House Special Garlic Lobster is so flavorful. The Fried Fish is crunchy on the outside and soft and moist in the inside. It was so delicious. We also love the House Special Fried Rice. They gave a complimentary tapioca dessert. The owner and staff were very friendly. The ambiance it ok. It looks better than other restaurant in the area.

Food is always good and abundant. Family servings. Food comes out fast and the rice always comes out first (most of you know what I mean). Street parking is always hard to find, payed parking lots are plenty. We always park next to the Family Bakery north of Mayflower. Place is normally packed during lunch and dinner time. Staff is always very helpful. They always serve us free dessert.

So I first went here in 2012 and loved seeing all the pictures of Manny Pacquiao (beloved boxer of the PI). He apparently goes to eat here when he was in town before fighting in USA. It's chinese food, some American Chinese and some true Chinese fare. I ate here 3x in 2012 within a week's time. Lol when I visited again 2019, I craved it and was able to introduce my son to it, who was 6 at the time and wasn't born the first time I went. 2024, had to go again. And it was just as good and just as kitschy with its pink decor. If you are looking for a high-end restaurant with service to match. This isn't it. But if you want a very good Chinese restaurant with authentic Chinese speaking people who don't understand a word you say or a word they say to you? This is it. The food is just as good as it was in 2012. I'm salivating thinking of it right now. We always get fried calamari, regular rice, chow mein with gravy, fried pork chops, fried whole fish (catfish), chicken and broccoli, walnut shrimp. At the end, they always bring tapioca pudding and fortune cookies for dessert. If they could ship it me to VA I would probably order a whole bunch 1x a month. For 13 people we paid about $280. Not bad considering. It's on a side street in Chinatown and I would recommend it over any of the 5 star restaurants if you just want good old super yummy Chinese food.

I will give this place a 5/5 for service because the staff members from Mayflower Seafood do provide the best service and they are so kind and accommodating! They speak multiple languages and they make great recommendations. They are so sweet and generous. This restaurant does feel like an authentic Cantonese restaurant from the Asian decor to the lazy Susan at the larger tables. I will have to say the food itself is ok in terms of Cantonese style and taste. Prices are decent for the portion.
